Our Funding Philosophy

The Bible teaches that the spiritual development of children is the primary responsibility of the immediate family with the come-along-side support of the wider community. That means that family, friends, the local congregation, and the Youth and Family Ministry arm of Jews for Jesus should all work together to each do their part in supporting opportunities for your children’s spiritual development. That includes making commitments to spiritual development in the family, in the local community, and in special event opportunities like our programs.

At Jews for Jesus, we never want finances to be the sole reason that a participant is not able to register, so the affordability of attending one of our programs starts with us, but the payment responsibility starts with the immediate family.  Families should never feel left alone, however, when resources are too tight to cover all costs.  As such, our philosophy on the order of ways to pursue covering the cost of program attendance is outlined below:

  • Our Commitment - The cost of our programs is subsidized for every family and we do everything we can to keep the cost of our programs low. We also do not charge our staff or volunteers to come and we do not make a profit from running programs.

  • Your Family - It is our policy that every family pays some amount towards the cost of the program.  You can pay it all at once at registration or pursue any combination of the options listed below to address the remaining balance.

  • Your Community - Seek the support of your community to address your remaining balance:

    1. Ask Your Extended Family and Friends - Check with your extended family and friends who are followers of Jesus to see if they would be willing to help contribute toward the balance (crowdfunding). We believe that, as a ministry, we are in partnership with your local faith communities to help steward and support your family as your children grow in their faith. People love and want to give toward something that is meaningful and this is a representation of a Kingdom mindset. Let your community know that there is an opportunity for them to come alongside and be a part!  *

    2. Ask Your Congregation - Check with your Congregation leader/Pastor for available funds. Many congregations have funds available to send youth to programs from their surrounding communities.

*If someone asks how to make a tax exempt donation, this would have to be done through a local congregation or through the Help Send a Child to Camp page of Jews for Jesus (The “Add a comment section” should include name of camp family the donation is for).

  • Payment Plan - Through setting up a payment plan, you are able to choose the amount and frequency to pay each month through the end of the calendar year. When you set this up with us, you will receive your monthly reminder with a link to pay the predetermined amount. There is no interest fee included in this option; it is just meant to serve as a way to alleviate the up-front cost of the program. We work with you to calculate your monthly payment and you are free to finish earlier if you are able. There is a Request Form for Financial Assistance further below to request the set up of a payment plan. After you submit this form, we will contact you with your payment plan amount so that we can finalize it.

  • Scholarship - If you have pursued all of the other payment options and still have a significant financial need, then we have a limited scholarship fund that we are able to provide for program fees.  This fund exists because of generous donors who believe in the mission and vision of the Youth and Family ministry at Jews for Jesus. Because of their generosity, we are able to provide scholarships for program fees when there is a financial need. There is a Request Form for Financial Assistance further below to request consideration for scholarship funds.
